It’s an exciting time for the staff, workers and clients of QS Recruitment. Part of the development plan for the business, following the MBO, is to create even closer working relationships with its core customers, becoming more than just an agency supplying staff but providing other services such as training.

In tune with this and following a very successful recruitment campaign for Clipper Logistics, Paul Keyworth, Regional Director of QS recently delivered Logistics training for the entire HGV driver team and transport office personnel at their Swadlincote distribution centre. During the four-day programme, practical training was given on EU Drivers Hours and Working Time Regulations, Digital Tachograph Manual Entry training, Drivers Responsibilities and Daily Walkround Checks.

Steve Tooby, Transport Manager at Clipper Logistics commented “I recognised there is a need to provide our team with the tools to do their job safely and legally. All too often drivers do not receive much training on the important things that keep them compliant and safe and my aim was to make sure they got this. The training QS Recruitment provided was detailed and delivered in the language the drivers understood. Being an HGV driver himself, as well as an experienced CPC trainer, Paul has done the job so he can truly explain how the rules fit into the practical everyday world of my team”

Peter Gillespie, MD of QS Recruitment commented “Our business plan involves adding value to the service we provide to our clients and being able to provide training (to this high level) is a real benefit to all parties. Having our own staff attend the training as well means they know so much more about the operations they support as well as making sure a positive message is delivered to the drivers we supply. We even had one of our consultants, Anam Hussain, get into a truck for the first time, giving her a proper perspective of the work of a professional driver. This type of experience is invaluable”.

In line with this, QS Recruitment have also recently been tasked by another significant Logistics business to work with their local transport teams to roll out training on the Microlise system in an attempt to make an overall £2m saving nationwide.

QS Recruitment can offer training at all levels to their clients from Transport Manager CPC and Driver CPC through to practical inductions and demonstrations. For more information contact QS Recruitment.
