Community Mini Bus Driver – Needed For New School Terms – Supporting the Community

We are recruiting D1 Minibus Drivers on behalf of a Sheffield City Council service, offering a rewarding opportunity to support vulnerable members of the local community. This role is ideal for drivers who enjoy working with people and take pride in providing a safe, reliable, and professional transport service.

As a Minibus Driver, you will be responsible for the safe collection and transportation of elderly and disabled passengers to and from various day centres and community facilities across the Sheffield area. You’ll play a vital role in helping passengers maintain their independence and access essential services, ensuring every journey is comfortable, safe, and enjoyable.

Drivers will be expected to conduct daily vehicle safety checks, assist passengers where required, maintain a high standard of customer care, and complete all relevant paperwork in line with service procedures and council guidelines.

Due to the nature of this role and the vulnerable individuals you will be transporting, all successful applicants will be required to undergo a DBS check before commencing employment.

Contract Type: Permanent
Hourly Rate: Pay per hour £12:80 per hour for the first 12 weeks rising to £13.83 per hour after 12 weeks
Working Hours: This role operates on a split-shift basis, Monday to Friday, with working hours typically between 07:00–10:00 and 14:00–18:00 each day. Offering a structured schedule and regular weekly hours, this position provides an excellent work-life balance while supporting elderly and vulnerable passengers across the Sheffield area

Experience & Qualifications

To join the team of great drivers supporting the community, you’ll need:

-A valid driving licence with Category D1 entitlement
-Previous experience driving a minibus in a professional setting
-Willingness to undergo and successfully pass a DBS background check
