MACHINISTS WANTED – STEEL INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE WELCOMED – IMMEDIATE STARTS
An excellent opportunity has become available for experienced Machinists to join a long-established and highly respected steel processing business. Established in 1973, our client has built an outstanding reputation within the steel stockholding, machining, steel conditioning, and transport sectors, serving customers throughout the UK for more than five decades.
Due to continued growth and increasing demand, they are now looking to recruit additional Machinists to strengthen their production team. This role will involve operating a Conventional Centre Lathe to machine, shape, and finish steel components to precise specifications, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy are maintained at all times.
Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you’ll be responsible for monitoring machining operations, checking finished products against required tolerances, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with production targets.
All operatives will be expected to follow health and safety procedures, maintain a clean working area, and accurately complete any production records and documentation required by the business.
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should be able to demonstrate the following:
– Previous experience working within the steel, engineering, or manufacturing industry
– Practical experience operating machinery such as Conventional Centre Lathes, Vertical Borers, Trepanners, Milling Machines, or Saws
– A sound understanding of basic engineering principles and machining processes
– Good numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to accurately interpret measurements and job specifications
– A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
