Job Description

HGV CLASS 2 DRIVERS WANTED – TRUNKING WORK AVAILABLE

You will be working for a well-known UK provider specialising in temperature-controlled transport and dedicated distribution services, supporting major food supply chains across the country.

As a Class 2 Driver, your role will involve trunking chilled and ambient food products between suppliers and RDCs/NDCs nationwide. The role is purely depot-to-depot work with no manual handling required – drivers will reverse onto bays and wait for loading or unloading. On average, you will carry out 1–2 runs per shift.

Drivers are required to complete routine vehicle checks before starting and ensure all delivery documentation is fully completed in line with operational standards.

Hourly Rate: Pay rates for this position vary depending on the shift worked: -Weekday day shifts (Monday to Friday) are paid at £17.00 per hour -Weekday night shifts offer £18.00 per hour -Saturday shifts are paid at £19.00 per hour -Sunday work is paid at a premium rate of £20.00 per hour
Working Hours: A variety of start times and shift patterns are on offer, covering a full 24-hour operation across the week. Extra shifts are also available across weekends for those looking to pick up additional work.

Experience & Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:

-A current Category C licence with entitlement to drive Class 2 vehicles
-A valid driver card for recording driving hours
-Up-to-date Driver CPC accreditation
-A solid driving record, with no more than 6 endorsements on licence
