HGV Class 1 Drivers Wanted – Excellent Trunking Role Available Now
Our client has been a trusted name in the transport industry since 1946, originally operating as a full-load steel haulier. As the industry evolved, the business successfully adapted, expanding into groupage distribution and growing its operations through the acquisition of the 3-acre Birley Vale site. In 1995, the company became a shareholder member of the Palletline network, allowing them to provide a broader range of nationwide logistics services and cementing their reputation as a leading transport provider.
As a HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for completing trunking runs to RDCs and NDCs across the UK on Monday to Friday night shifts. Duties will include collecting palletised freight from a Palletline Distribution Centre and returning it to the depot in Sheffield. This is a straightforward trunking role with no handball involved, as all loading and unloading is carried out by forklift operators.
All drivers will be expected to carry out vehicle checks before and after each shift, ensure compliance with all driving regulations, and complete all relevant paperwork accurately in line with company procedures.
To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
-A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
-A valid Digital Tachograph Card
-A full Driver CPC qualification
-No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence
Candidates must also have held their HGV Class 1 licence for a minimum of 12 months and demonstrate a professional, safety-focused approach to driving at all times.
